Hello! I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself.
Professionally, I am board certified and licensed in WI as an Occupational Therapist, since 1999. Over the years I have also become an energy medicine practitioner. In 2010, I received certification as a Reiki master teacher. In 2012 I spent the year learning other culture's healing practices. At years end, I became a mesa carrier in the Peruvian shaman tradition. In 2013, frustrated with the mainstream healthcare system, I branched off on my own as Everyday Wellness, LLC. In 2018, I received certification in Mental Health First Aid and in Emotional CPR (how to revive our emotional hearts in the midst of crisis, trauma and distress). I have also taken a variety of continuing education classes in craniosacral therapy, myofacial release and other modalities. In 2020, I took classes during the summer and received a Wellness Counselor certificate through Cornell University. Starting in January 2021 I will be taking online classes through UW-Madison for Grief Support Specialist certificate.
I am a strong promoter of mental health and living a healthy lifestyle. I have a passion for empowering adults and teenagers to live well and stay well. My combined educational background and lived experiences grant me the ability to integrate traditional, complementary and supportive therapeutic approaches that can be tailored specifically to your needs. Not only do I have the professional experience, I have personal experience with anxiety, depression and burnout, so I am able to empathize while providing peer support and guidance, which many of my clients have reported as beneficial.
I provide teaching assistance, as needed, for Upledger's CranioSacral Therapy (CS-1 and CS-2) classes for the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators (IAHE).
My personal interests include biking, aviation, exploring new places, eating dark chocolate and caring for animals. I live in the Milwaukee area, because my immediate and extended family are very important to me.
I am committed to empowering individuals, like yourself, in discovering your own inherent healing abilities. I look forward to meeting you!
Namaste,
Jean
